I’ll Follow the Sun: Using Solar Cycles for Greater Happiness
How did you find your way to astrology? Most likely, you followed the Sun. The characteristics of our Sun Signs offered most of us our toehold onto astrology’s rich and varied path. As we travel further along that road, it’s fashionable to distance ourselves from the Sun – or rather, from the misconception that Sun Signs are all astrology has to offer. But turning our backs on the Sun may be hazardous to our spiritual vitality and happiness, in the same way being deprived of sunlight saps our physical energy.
In this lecture, we’ll explore how the transiting Sun’s daily and annual pilgrimages through your chart regulates the tempo of your days and years as reassuringly as the seasons themselves. We’ll also look at some examples of how the Progressed Sun’s much less frequent entry into a new sign or house can signal truly life-changing transitions.
April Elliott Kent has studied astrology since 1973 and has practiced professionally since 1990. She is author of three books: Astrological Transits (Fair Winds Press 2015), The Essential Guide to Practical Astrology (Alpha/Penguin 2011) and Star Guide to Weddings (Llewellyn Worldwide 2008). Kent’s astrological writing has also appeared in The Mountain Astrologer and Dell Horoscope magazines and Llewellyn’s annual Moon Sign, Sun Sign, and Sabbats Almanac books.
April founded her website, BigSkyAstrology.com, during a long, slow summer vacation in 1999 and has kept it going ever since. She is also a regular contributor to MoonCircles.com. www.bigskyastrology.com
